Building a Heart Safe Community—One School at a Time
When seconds matter, preparation can save a life. That belief guides Piedmont Medic One Foundation’s mission—and it’s why we were honored to support a recent Heart Safe School training right here in Fauquier County.
Heart Safe Schools is an established national initiative led by organizations like Project ADAM and supported locally by groups such as Gwyneth’s Gift Foundation and the Warrenton Volunteer Fire Company. In November 2025, our foundation was invited to assist this powerful collaboration during a pilot training event at St. John the Evangelist Catholic School.
Together, this team provided hands-on CPR and emergency response training to eight staff members and all students in grades five through eight. Students learned how to recognize cardiac emergencies, call for help, and perform CPR—skills that are simple to learn yet proven to save lives. Empowering young people with these tools strengthens the resilience and readiness of our entire community.
For Piedmont Medic One Foundation, supporting these trainings aligns perfectly with our mission. We’re committed to assisting leading organizations like Project ADAM and Gwyneth’s Gift Foundation as they work toward ensuring every school in Fauquier County can become Heart Safe—equipped with trained responders, clear emergency action plans, and accessible AEDs.
This pilot training is just the beginning. By continuing to stand alongside our partners and contribute where needed, we hope to help make lifesaving education more accessible across the county.
Together, we can build a safer, stronger Fauquier County—one Heart Safe School at a time.
